Living Your Yoga

Oct. 21 & 22

Odd Fellows Hall, Santa Rosa

11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday & Sunday

OCT. 21 ONLY ~ $185 - REGISTER

BOTH DAYS ~ $315 - REGISTER

What we do "on the mat" is given perspective by how we live our lives off the mat, and vice-versa. Practicing yoga over the years changes our life, and in turn our life changes our yoga practice

To help us to understand this relationship of yoga and life, we will begin each day with a short discussion about what it means to “live our yoga” in the most practical sense. This will be followed by an Active practice, and later with a Quiet Practice.

Our Active practice will focus on moving, strengthening, and warming with awareness and fun. Afternoon Quiet practice will focus on opening, the practice of Restorative poses, breathing, and sitting in silence.

Each day of this well-rounded practice will serve to center and inspire us as we open our hearts to living with compassion in the world.

Note: All students will need to bring the following props: a yoga mat, a yoga belt, an eye cover, a firm round OR square bolster, two 4 x 9 x 6 yoga blocks, and five firm blankets. The more props, the more relaxation bliss in Restorative yoga!

The idea that doing less can actually support deeper healing felt both simple and surprisingly hard to accept. I also found the mention of using props to fully support the body interesting since it shifts the focus away from effort. In the middle of reading I was reminded of how even outside yoga spaces like a New Assignment Help Company dedicated to providing premium tailored academic support for university students across all major Australian cities people are also starting to value balance more. It made me wonder how often we ignore rest in daily life and what might…
